Closet Tip

How exciting is it when we spot one of our 'oh so' fabulous accessories on the big screen?  I have seen a couple of our bracelets on WHAT NOT TO WEAR (love that show!) and a necklace on the Grammies.  Channel surfing the other day while the tribe was sleeping (yes I am still doing the nanny thing) and I saw one of our "Flower Garden" Bracelets on one of the diva's of the Bold and Beautiful (or as good sister calls it "The bored and the wasted").  That means, at least to us, we are calling the fashion shots correctly.  Now, if this nightmare of a recession would roll out of dodge there would be plenty to celebrate.  In the meantime, you can always count on the Closet to provide not just the latest in accessories, but the most affordable.  If you happen upon a bored afternoon on a rainy summer day, be sure to clean out your closets, your jewelry box, your junk drawer (LIMIT: one per house!!) and toss it.  Lighten your load and you lighten your life.  And remember, we are still the drop off for Cradles to Crayons.....bring it on down.  Or actually, over!  Alll drop offs should be made to my home at 56 Park View Drive in Bradley Park in Hingham.  Have a Happy, Fun, Safe and Carefree, whenever possible, Summer.  It's far too short!

Don't let the winter blues (and blah's) get you down and into the easy habit of wearing only black!  Bright colors can be worn year round and even one piece can make an outfit pop.  Try a colorful tank or t-shirt under a sweater or blazer!  You can always wear a fabulous scarf, pin, earrings or necklace that will take any so-so outfit into a so fabulous one.  Many times it is the smallest thing that can bring the biggest change in look, attitude and feeling!  Don't be afraid to try something new. Until I opened the closet I never wore statement jewelry and I now I pair it with T-shirts as well as evening outfits.  It works, it's fun and, silly as it sounds, it is a confidence booster! I'm always amazed at the compliments I get and, let's face it, it's good advertising for the Closet as well :)!

Dear Diary........

I'm known for coming up with many clever and humorous sayings (or at least I think I am) and I've come up with a new one for my repetoir. To wit: At this age you couldn't pay me to have more kids but you can pay me to watch yours. Welcome to the new economy. My latest endeavor? Why, a nanny, of course.

DERBY STREET? THE CLOSET? Yes and Yes!!! We are sooooo ready for our close up and have taken one of the two fabulous Kiosk's that Derby Street just acquired.  We opened on July 16th (yay!!! Camilley's 20th birthday!) and we are loving every minute of it!  Sure it's July, it's a tad hot and most people are at the beach BUT there's a lot happening there and we are happy to be a part of it!  The people watching alone is worth the time I spend there....note to self:  I need to get me some of those Big Dark Senior Glasses before my pupils burn out from the various fashion don'ts!  We loved being in the square but realized the foot traffic would not support the business enough to stay open there and just when we were ready to close and stick to trunk shows, it was show time at Derby!  So, as one of the best summers we have had in a long time, weather wise, continues it's sunny course, Camilley's Closet is basking in it's own little glow of being able to have our little 'hut' at Derby Street even if it's only through October 31st.  Stay tuned......your intrepid business owner has a few ideas up her proverbial sleeve.....HAPPY SUMMER!  We are in front of the Paper Store, come by and say hi!  New merchandise arriving the first weeK of August.
